Aaahhh, summertime weddings ~ the season of love in the lush green mountains of Western North Carolina has begun! And in the case of our featured wedding couple, Emery & Brian, much love was shown in the form of, well, books! Yes, this loving duo came up with a wonderful idea for gifts to give to their eighty guests after recently witnessing people coming in and out of a bookstore in South Carolina with paper bags filled with all the books they could fit into the bag for $10. It sparked the idea for Emery and Brian to give books. But their idea came just three weeks before the wedding! A mad yet thoughtful scramble to find the right book for each person was on. The plan worked and was received with warm smiles and heartfelt laughter as each guest found their personal book at the seat chosen for them at the dinner table. The whole idea allowed Emery and Brian the opportunity to get to know a bit about each guest’s interest, even the guests they my not have known well. These gift books underscored what turned out be a unforgettable occasion at Hawkesdene, where all in attendance took full advantage of all that a Hawkesdene destination wedding has to offer…from super fun games and hiking around our fifty-four acre wooded property, to dining on delicious food, to hanging with friends & family, plus our llamas & alpacas! Yes indeed, summer is here again at Hawkesdene ~ and love is definitely in the mountain air.
